Before Starting Vine
Vine Service users receive their Vine login information in an email:
To download the installer of Vine desktop client, click the Download link in the Start Using Vine section of the email.
Install Vine by running the Vine installer.
Click the Start link in the email. Please note that in some email clients the link may not work. Then please start Vine manually and enter the login information listed in the How to Login section of the email.
In some email clients, for example Microsoft Outlook, you can receive a security warning like this. Click Yes to continue.
Before you run Vine for the first time you need to ask your Vine administrator to provide you with the following list of data:
Type of authentication: Windows or Oracle.
VAS (Vine Application Server) Server name. Normally, you do not need to add a port number. You might need to add it after the server name (e.g. “servername:6202”) only if the administrator has configured a special port to be used on the server.
(Please note that an Oracle direct connection is no longer available.)
User name. With Windows authentication this is your Windows user name.
User password. With Windows authentication this is your Windows password.
Windows Authentication and Single Sign On
With Windows authentication enabled, Vine will not ask you for username and password if you have already logged into your company’s Windows domain (Single Sign On).
If you are not logged into your company Windows domain, then you can log into Vine by providing your Windows username and password.
In Vine Web, the browser will show you the following dialog to login:
If Oracle Authentication is enabled then the following login page should appear when you go to Vine web address in your browser:
Select the language of Vine.
Enter your USERNAME and your PASSWORD. Click Login. If you enter valid data, you will see the main Vine view.
