A New Customer: Person and Company
Normally, a Customer is a Company object with a connection to a Person object representing the company’s contact person. Company and Person objects are usually created in Vine using standard object edit forms.
The term “Customer” can have multiple meanings. Often an individual company or a corporate group is considered a customer, at times a customer means one person. Sometimes both individuals and companies can be viewed as customers. In the following examples, a “customer” means the customer’s office location. However, this terminology does not represent a great significance when it comes to normal everyday business life.
NOTE: The Vine system may be customized to meet the special needs of your company. In that case, edit forms of the company and person objects may appear slightly different as shown here.
To build a new customer, Vine requires two actions: first enter information for the contact person and afterwards company’s information.
NOTE: Before creating a new person or company, we recommend checking if the specific person or company has been already registered in your customer database using, for example, the ”Find by Name” tool in the user’s personal tools area.
